The body of William T. Anderson, who fought for the Confederacy during the American Civil War. This post mortem photograph was taken several hours after Anderson was killed by the men of Lieutenant Colonel Samuel P. Cox, who had been assigned the specific task of killing him.
Thanks go to Skull reader Nickie H, who found this photograph on Pinterest and kindly sent it to me. Further information about Anderson can be found here (you might want to turn your computer’s speakers off in order to avoid the bloody annoying music, mind).
