This post mortem photograph was found on Pinterest, but I think it originally came from Antique Photo Album. I don’t think there can be too much argument about the little girl on the left being deceased – the pinpoint pupils on her eyes look to me very much as if they’ve been ‘dotted in’ by the photographer after the image was developed.

Is there a date on this photograph? The distinction between right and left shoes were not widespread until the 1850′s.
Oh, I didn’t know that! No, there’s no date (that I can see, at least) – I’ve reproduced the image completely ‘as is’.

Her shoes do look as if they are on the wrong feet 8ut often shoes were made to fit on either foot.. there was no left or right shoe…though this would seem a little late to 8e that as it generally happened in a slightly earlier period.
