Sinister Sunday

I do love a bit of morbidly sinister art, me. And these sculptures by Maria Rubinke are amongst the best.

Who’s a pretty boy then?

When Nickie from Typecast tweeted to tell me about them (thanks Nickie!), there was some commenting from others about how ‘surely this isn’t art’. Well speaking as an ex art student I would say that there is no specific doctrine as to what does or does not constitute ‘art’, and that is a good thing.

Beauty is, as they say, in the eye of the beholder. And personally I think that Rubinke’s ceramics are very beautiful indeed.
